minus-squareicelimit@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 hours agoI didn’t even know Tokyo drift was an FF movie

So just driving under a truck, or drifting is cool, but jumping a building to blow up a helicopter with your car is dumb? Whatever. 🙄
minus-squarekamenLady.@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·4 hours agoWeren’t they even in space in one of the movies?

minus-squareAmbientChaos@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·4 hours agoFirst one is like a time capsule of street racing and car culture of the moment. It was better because it was grounded in reality. The driving and stunts were cool because they were believable. The new stuff is just over the top action. To each their own :)
minus-squareFordBeeblebrox@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·3 hours agoThe first one shows a criminal gang and you know they’re serious because they have a truck full of stolen dvd players…it’s a great product of its time
minus-squareViking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·4 hours agoYeah, the best way to make a bad movie good is to make it into a farce*, whether on purpose or not. Examples include: Crossroads, Commando, The Room *though there are of course truly great (and usually criminally underrated) movies that were farces on purpose from the start
