Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Ian Roberts arrested by ICE

The Department of Homeland Security said that Dr. Ian Roberts, a native of Guyana, was ordered deported in 2024, and that he fled from police Friday.

“This action follows Dr. Ian Roberts being detained by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents this morning. We have no confirmed information as to why Dr. Roberts is being detained or the next potential steps,” the release states

    “You know it’s the Black and Brown kids who are worried," she said. "If it’s Ian Roberts who’s in trouble, what does that mean for them?”

    Maybe they could have a peaceful protest and sing songs. Oh oh oh maybe they can vote in the midterms… as long as whomever is running meets 100% of their requirements.

        I vote no matter what. Even if I think the system is rigged. Because there’s a chance I’m wrong. Even if I don’t like the options.
