and all the blue no matter who dem’s are rushing right now to condemn this right?
Course I do wonder if there’s a republican in this race that can add to the “corrupt asshole” competition.
Current mayor, Eric Adams, is a democrat also running as an independent because he’s corrupt as fuck and everyone dislikes him
You all know you can vote for a mayor you don’t hate right? Like you can all collectively write in spiderman and let Tom Holland have a shot.
We’re not happy if we’re not unhappy.
The aliens in this are New Yorkers apparently.
is a democrat
When it benefits him. He’s also a Republican and bronze tier Legion of Doom member.
The Republican in the race is the old Guardian Angels guy from the 70s and 80s. He’s a bit of a clown, has gotten caught in a bunch of lies, and said stupid and sexist shit on the radio. But he hates Donald Trump, and owns a bunch of cats. He seems like an elder statesman when compared against your average MAGAt.
But he doesn’t stand a chance, even with all these people running. Adams beat him last time 2-to-1, and nobody liked Adams in the last election, either.
Blue no matter who, in this case would mean Mamdami. He is the Democratic primary winner. So yes. I’m pretty sure almost all of them would be. What did you think blue no matter who meant? It’s all about keeping someone even worse like a republican from winning the seat.
I can’t speak for new york, but where I am. Third parties are non-existent realistically. I’m sure New York City in particular has a heavy Democratic turnout. Though maybe they actually have some viable third parties. But in this case all these corrupt ghouls aligning against mamdani are doing their best to split the vote for the blue so the Republican can win. I think Democrats would be wise in this instance to vote blue no matter who. Though especially because it’s mamdani this time. That’s all blue no matter who really meant. Standing in solidarity against the fascist. If we had done it in 2024 we would be in a much better position now.
My point mainly is made half jokingly but, I will bet a significant portion of the democratic leadership that scolds progressives, blaming losses on people that even tried to fight in the primaries (IE say people who blamed Bernie on Hillary’s defeat), will also be the ones saying "oh no this is serious… we should vote for coumo because he’s the real democrat). Say people like Bill Clinton that endorsed him in the primaries.
Fair enough. Though in 50 years of watching this I don’t think I’ve ever seen it used that way? Definitionally. In a Democratic primary for the Democratic party. Everyone is blue no matter who. Now the establishment definitely loathes being challenged. Which is all more reason to do it.
Blue no matter who generally only means anything in the general. All the better now that actual people can use it against the party establishment for once. And I would argue that any member of the establishment or New York Democratic party leadership who would vote for anyone other than the parties candidate, mondami. Should be ousted from leadership. Any leadership that doesn’t have the courage of conviction for the Party’s candidate. Certainly doesn’t represent that party.
I do agree, though we’ll see when the road gets closer… I have a very bad feeling we are going to see a lot of big names throw their weight behind Cuomo.
Money will definitely present an obstacle. But the fact mamdami is the parties candidate carries plenty weight itself. Outside the primaries people are largely clueless. Name recognition will count for something. Though I don’t think Cuomo’s is that good. IIRC he’s dirtied of plenty. So hopefully party recognition will outweigh.
I too think he will win… but I think it’s going to shine a light on the democratic parties hypocrisy. We’ll see more when the general goes into gear… But I think that some big names in the democratic party are going to either stay silent or flat out oppose Mamdami.
I mean it’s already happened/is happening. Plenty have refused to endorse and some have outright opposed him because of Israel and his skin color (see NY gov Hochul, Senator Schumer, and Senator Gillibrand). However, both AOC and Bernie have endorsed him. Unless Obama comes out against I’m not sure that what democrats outside of NY much less NYC say will really sway anyone more.
Am blue no matter who. May he rot in hell.
Just take the “L”, Cuomo. You lost the primary, and it wasn’t close either.
Cuomo is not a good candidate.
My parents, who thankfully can’t vote in the NYC election, don’t really like Zohran. One because she’s terrified of “communism” (whatever that means to her). The other is skeptical, but I feel like could be convinced. I think that’s a lot of older people.
Hey Cuomo, you lost! Go home! The city doesn’t want you.
Going by the primary, and I definitely say we should you are correct. Only time will tell. Honestly I hope Cuomo splits the corrupt Republican vote. They will have so many highly corrupt people running in this election. I hope new York Democrats can stay focused enough to solidly vote for the Democratic nominee. And seeing that AOC is from the area I’d say that’s a good sign.
In other words, Wahh, no one likes me. Go fly a kite you chump, let someone committed to their constituents instead of big business take the floor, you’ve been shown the door.
Fuck off
Oh, wow. NOBODY saw that coming.
Don’t Worry! EVERYONE who says Blue No Matter Who will IGNORE this INDEPENDENT because voting for him would go AGAINST their Very Solid and Honest ideology!
Absolutely blue no matter who was about solidarity against the fascists. Mamdami is the blue this time. Cuomo just another self serving vote splitting fascist enabler. So yes, blue (Democrats) no matter who (especially because mamdami seems like a great candidate this time).
I know 3rd parties actually have a presence in NY. AOC having come from them. Are there any polling close to either of the two major parties in the mayors race? And if not, why shouldn’t people vote blue this time. Especially seeing as it’s mamdami? Who should you have them vote for.
They aren’t advocating to vote against Mamdani. They’re pointing out that “blue no matter who” is almost exclusively applied to progressives who complain about establishment Dems. When it’s the other way around, establishment Dems are quick to abandon their alleged principles and sabotage progressive candidates.
Is it almost exclusively applied to establishments Dems because that’s who runs the most often? Or is there some real different dichotomy? Don’t get me wrong Cuomo can go fuck himself with a sideways baseball bat. Wanting to have it both ways he’s going to fight for the worst possible outcome.
Plenty of genuine people got a lot of venom and vitrial in 2024 calling for solidarity against the fascists. And still do. From many of the people posting lower down below this article. Though not OP. I don’t recall them being part of that group. But blue no matter who cuts both ways. And this time Como ain’t the blue candidate and should really sit the fuck out and take the clue. This time people will actually be able to vote blue no matter who and hopefully feel good about it for once. Since it isn’t Como or Adams.
@BigMacHole is doing a bit, check their other, very similar comments on a number of posts.
Oh. Well there are a number posting here that aren’t doing it as a bit. But as long as Quomo gets fucked I don’t care.
I think it’s a bit, at least. And I agree, I hope he gets nothing but crickets from voters with this independent run
They aren’t one of the names I generally associate with that group. So you are probably right.
Mamdami is WFP (working families party) endorsed and they’ve been going to bat for him too in their newsletters. While 3rd party is more viable in NY its primarily in an endorsement type thing as candidates can run under multiple parties (thus listed multiple times on the same ballot) and you choose the party you vote for them under. Theoretically, this gives the 3rd party more sway in pushing policies but it is rarely straight 3rd party candidates. Unsure if the city has more 3rd parties I’m unaware of (there’s Republican, Democrat, Conservative, and WFP).
Why does Andrew Cuomo look like he is going to steal the moisture in my skin?
What a crybaby.
“Vote blue no matter who” for me but not for thee
