Latest denial of disaster funding comes as Trump has repeatedly stated he wants to eliminate FEMA

Donald Trump has denied federal disaster relief funds to the people of Arkansas, which saw dozens of people die from a series of deadly tornados last month, so legislators are pleading for him to reconsider.

More than 40 people have been found dead after a series of tornados and severe storms hit Arkansas and neighboring states Mississippi and Missouri in March, according to CNN.

Given the scale of the disaster, the state’s Republican governor, Sarah Huckabee, requested federal disaster aid as a part of an emergency declaration. That request was later denied by the Trump administration.

They would be much more able to do so if we replaced First-past-the-post voting and let them vote outside the two party system with the ability to transfer their vote if their first choice didn’t win. No spoiler effect.

But we can’t seem to get these reforms passed in most blue states ran by self proclaimed democracy defenders in the democratic party. How can we expect red states to pass it?

Aren’t you happy you voted trump?

I’m sure these people are defending trump, still, saying it’s for the best. Trump could just piss in their mouth and they’d say “that k you master for refreshing me!”

This is in preparation for California wildfires.

He’s setting precedent with an exponentially smaller disaster in a red state, as political cover for future denial of relief funds for the much larger Blue State seasonal disasters.

I tried, but voting Democrat in Arkansas is just pissing in the wind.

We’re getting what we deserve, and reaping what we’ve sown. Don’t pity us.

I have empathy for those in the state South of us. But very little sympathy. Your population of morons voted for this. Just like ours did. You get what you voted for. So have the day you voted for.

Because I didn’t know in the beginning and now the process is almost done. I’m not sacrificing my first house because I want to stick it to one misguided individual who is too susceptible to propaganda

That’s definitely the most frustrating part about this. They will turn around and gleefully blame the victims of this. Rather than taking responsibility themselves.

Sadly, this point will be lost amongst the louder voices shouting accusations of blame at Obama and Biden.

I heard something once, about a Jewish community manufacturing a laser that will work from orbit? From what I can understand, its primary purpose is to manufacture red herring arguments.

Born and raised. I live just outside one of the major Metropolitan areas. But I spent Summers down in the southern Ozarks near the Tripoli mines when I was a kid. Know the Mennonites up north. About the only area I’m not very familiar with is down in the boot heel

Well the real key on that is to stop looking at it as us and them. Because they are us. When it really comes down to it they generally want the same thing. They just let themselves get distracted with culture war issues. Dehumanizing and othering people who aren’t them. Just as we are easily susceptible to stories media and Outlets that dehumanize and other them or tying them as the problem.

They think wealthy Democrats are to blame for all their problems. If we are being extremely generous they might be 10 to 25% correct. Whereas Democrats and many progressives feel it is wealthy Republicans that are to blame. Which again 75 to 80% correct. Which is just how the people who are the problems like it. Continuing to make it an US versus them thing. When the truth is it doesn’t matter what party they pretend to be in. It’s on the wallpapers that are the problem. And that’s something both Republican voters and everyone else can really agree when you get down to it. But that is what would really terrify the people who are the problem. If we were to unite against them.

Though as an anarchist that may just be my personal views.

You get what you voted for. You asked for a president who came out and said point blank that he does not care about you and only cares about your vote. Your hatred and stupidity brought you here now own it while we all point and shake our heads.

I’m sad to see it, but this is what they voted for. This is what republicans have been fighting for for years, decades even, and Arkansas’ entire federal delegation is republican.
