“South Park” is back to once again mock President Donald Trump — and this time, Vice President JD Vance, too.

The Comedy Central show took aim at the president, as well as Vance and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, in its latest episode, “Got A Nut,” which aired on Aug. 6.

The episode revolves around school counselor Mr. Mackey being fired from his job and, because he’s desperate for money, joining Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A parody ad for the federal agency mocks its recruitment process, with a jingle declaring, “We don’t ask for experience, just show up!”

I feel like this episode was really bad. Unfunny, making fun of random unfunny things, and going away from the plot of the first episode. I hope they do better for the next one

This is the 14 month old puppy Kristi bragged about shooting. She then shot a pet goat that “disgusted” her.

A good thing for Kristi Noem and me. I would not have known about her methods otherwise.

25 minute episode makes a headlines everyday until the next episode comes out which oddly enough isn’t each week because of how culturally relevant the episodes are the fucking president threatened their network.

I don’t know that there’s ever been a more culturally relevant show… Even back when they’re only like three channels.

I love how JD Vance came to the bedroom with Trump and Satan and said ‘would you like me to apply baby oil to zee asshole?’ in a stupid French accent. It was hilarious! Yes I know the whole part was a reference to Fantasy Island, it was hilarious

This is all such a circus. But we are not getting the bread, well a very small portion of us are getting it all, and a few places are holding the vast majority of the rest of the wealth among their peons.

While I find this season hasn’t been terribly well written or even all that funny, I really enjoy watching these episodes. In this time of instability and chaos, it feels somewhat cathartic to see them just go balls-to-the-wall with their insults on these absolute bastards. On a meta level, they seem to be dropping nuance to get reactions from their targets and even hoping to get sued, perhaps looking to shed light on some hypocrisy in their targets. Or maybe they are just Trey and Matt, frustrated at the current political situation and not inclined to give a fuck anymore. Cartman’s confusion is probably just them acknowledging their difficulty parodying people whose entire life is a farce.

The end credits were a fucking riot, though.

    Illegitimi non carborundum.

He is both powerful, yet impotent. He’s got nothing to get them with, and by “getting them” he would be self owning himself because they are daring him to do it with every animated frame.

Also when Mike Tyson was convicted of rape, Trump lamented that he was going to prison because he was making so much money with his boxing that he could ‘just give lots of money to rape survivors and be done with it’. He really does believe that money beats everything.

      agreed

they’re paid too much for this bs, being just edgy doesn’t cut it, it has to be smart and somewhat convey a message

I’m a bit worried for the rest of the season, if they’re already doing shitty episodes

      First episode was good

It had its moments, but it wasn’t as good as the previous episode, for sure. Acting like all right wing “master debaters” and ICE agents are just doing it for money rather than actually believing the rhetoric was a shit take, too.

I was hoping they were going to have a deepfake Trump PSA every episode after it said “1 of 50.” Guess not.

It’s an old drama series from the late 70s. Essentially it’s an exclusive private island. Guests were granted so-called “fantasies” on the island for a price. JD Vance portrayed as Tattoo. Tattoo would run up the main bell tower to ring the bell and shout De plane! De plane! to announce the arrival of a new set of guests at the beginning of each episode. In later seasons, he arrives in his personal go-kart, sized for him, and recklessly drives to join the host for the visitor reception while the staff scramble out of his way.

So the parallels between Epstein island and other things lined up so well overall.

Like Fantasy Island didn’t have a radio … or a flight schedule. That show has aged like Corinthian leather.

It was pretty implied that the islands and Mr Roark were supernatural. The terrible remake made it explicit. Roark seemed to have control of the weather and things would happen to force the characters into learning the lesson they were there for.

Popular theory is the guests has just died and this was a last chance at being “good” before judgement.

He lived a fairly tragic life. But while on the show he was an asshole, constantly proposing marriage to female employees and demanding more and more pay, even wanting more pay than the star of the show. He was eventually fired because he was just too difficult to work with.

Also ran well into the 80’s with new episodes.

They also rebooted it twice. Once in the 90’s and once recently. I don’t know if Tattoo made a comeback, so only people 35 and up might get that reference.
