There’s a lot of assumptions in your angry reply - and you should be angry. Just not at principled progressives, among them a lot of POC and queer folks, who did not vote for a party that never really did anything for them. You should try to overcome your naivete and accept the obvious - that this current development was inevitable with a Democratic party that is only different from Republicans in the sense that they keep up an act of civility that only ever applies to conservatives. Just look how vile the party establishment attacks Mamdani but had no problems compromising with, and clapping for Trump.
Stop attacking leftists and start forming coalitions (but this time NOT with blue conservatives), because the time when you had the luxury to do so has passed.
I am not responsible for my government. The only power I have over them is peaceful protest, and my vote, and because of the two party system my only voting choice is the lesser of 2 evils.
I could leave my country, but when I mentioned that elsewhere on Reddit I was accused of doing “white flight” and being a coward.
I’m not going to be guilt tripped into becoming a freedom fighter against my own government, as though that’s the only moral course of action I could take.
I don’t want to spend my life living in fear or fighting battles.
I just want peace and prosperity, and I’m not going to sacrifice it for a lost cause against a foe that will never fall.
The rich will control more and more and it will never stop. They have too much power with modern technology now. We live in a global surveillance state with for sale private militias, nuclear missiles, UAVs, legalized privately owned for profit prisons, and weaponized automated flying drones.
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re building giant underground ovens right now for mass cremation of human bodies.
You are not going to overthrow them. You’re just going to waste your life trying.
It’s already over, you just haven’t realized it yet.
You’re responsible for the people or the policies you voted for.
If you didn’t vote, you’re responsible for the bad people and bad policies you didn’t vote against.
If you voted for a bad person or a bad policy, you’re responsible for the bad people and the bad policies.
In my state Kamala Harris won by a landslide, which I knew would happen. There was no viable third candidate, and Trump would have been even worse, as we’ve clearly seen.
When there’s no ideal people or ideal policies, voting for the least harm is the only ethical choice left.
Abstaining from voting because the only choices are an evil guy or a less evil guy, is like abstaining from using your super powers to stop bad guys because there’s just gonna be more bad guys.
Your objection to Democrats supporting the IDF has led you to be complicit in the dismantling of USAID and the killing of millions of elderly and sick Americans who relied on Medicaid, and the doubling down on climate destroying industries, and the destabilization of global politics, and the exacerbation of wealth inequality to an even greater degree at an even faster rate, and the destruction of tens of thousands of immigrant families’ lives, etc etc
Stop blaming the broken system on your passive complicity with the violation of human rights for minorities.
You’d let it all fall down even if it meant tens of thousands of POC and queer lives being destroyed in the process.
Your accelerationism hurts us long before it ever hurts you, which is kind of one of the points of OP’s meme tbh.

So you’re not responsible for the people you vote for, but non-voters are responsible for Trump?
Y’all are fucking children
Smells like psyop in here.
