Hello! Some info about me is up on my website: https://wreckedcarzz.com/
But what if the router is what dies?
dun dun duuuuunnnnn
One reason I’m not running Linux on my main box: it’s a fucking nightmare to do a full disk image. I run Macrium Reflect on windows and there is nothing for *nix that I can find that does it easily, and while the system is live. I don’t want to shutdown, find the flash drive, plug it in, boot, image the drive (and my backup drive is encrypted by bitlocker so I’d need to partition the drive and get luks or something…), reboot, and repeat every day and also remember to delete old images.
Yeah sure I can ‘back up’ user data but that’s not the issue, I don’t want to spend a few days getting my system back to the exact config it was before. I already have documents with commands and settings and it’s doable but awful. With windows and macrium I can intentionally fuck the system six ways from Sunday and have it back how it was this morning in 30 minutes. I need that ability on Linux, it baffles me that it’s not a thing.
But memory != storage so this meme doesn’t work at all. If you have half a TB of ram and you’re asking for change, I’ll gut you like a pig and rehouse your tech to a more loving environment.
E: also, for the ps(2) the game ran off the disk (with very few exceptions, using a hard drive that isn’t mentioned here), so you were only saving… save data. So another ding for meme logic.

…but you don’t drift with 4WD (in this scenario), you change to it because of the uneven terrain that comes with an outdoor mixed-environment like a playground, where one can traverse concrete, grass, dirt, mud, sand all in a few seconds. Locking differentials are a plus if the vehicle has them, especially in sand for this situation.
E: also the skyline is technically awd as I don’t believe you can disengage the 4WD. 4WD implies the ability of 2WD and possibly a low/high range gearbox. It bugs me that the show uses the term 4WD for this.
Ah, I’m not running 11 yet. I’m one of the holdouts still on 10, I upgraded as soon as it was available and then restored from an image to 10. I fear I need to get pushed to it at EoL, since my home rig has two sound cards, a keyboard, and a mouse that are configurable only in windows. But fuck, I’m dreading the day, as I hate the start menu, the possibility of ads in explorer, the context menu is stupid and is not accessibility-friendly, I can’t keep the taskbar at the top, the settings are getting more obtuse…
So yeah that could explain why I’ve not seen it before myself :p
The railings don’t continue to the full length of the deck, which is both a safety hazard and disappointing. Or in other terms, why the fuck did you circumcise your deck? Definitely losing points for that.
I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen - maybe it’s a group policy thing or something?
Half a penis lengthwise, or…?
This is it. OP is just dumb. “omg it’s restarting when it said it was at less than 100% and I can’t fathom why that would be, I told it to shut down reeeEEEEE”. I used to think this was job security (“my system got corrupted and it’s totally not because I’m an idiot”) but as the years go on I yearn to simply drop filing cabinets on their heads.
“but I don’t even have a yard”
Btrfs is what I run too actually (on a spare ThinkPad) with xubuntu, but the management/scheduling through… TimeShift? Is unreliable. I always need to remember to manually take an image. And I have no idea what the process is if the system is unbootable, since to recover I need to boot and get to TS…
I totally forgot about TS and how btrfs works with it until now. Which tells you how often I manually take an image…
