I could have stated it better. What I meant was that the fraction of kinetic energy that is taken from the wind is so small that the total kinetic energy in the wind is probably not the important factor that changes with wind speed. The dynamics of how the lift depends on wind speed is probably much more important.

It’s much too late for that.

We don’t directly harvest the kinetic energy. That increase probably has to do with how the wind provides lift to the blades. Of course, you couldn’t keep increasing like that until the harvested energy is greater than the kinetic energy. But I’m sure at any wind speed we only get a tiny fraction.

Also deserts are not even nearly lifeless. A solar farm of the size needed would wipe out a lot of habitat.

The problem is, that’s a very common phrase that is never used to mean what the headline means.

I’ve not tried to make such a table myself in Libreoffice, but when I open one that someone at work made with excel, everything works as expected.

There are alternatives for everything, and most of them are better that the windows-only options. Gimp, for example, is far superior to Photoshop.

That said, some folks do have to use the crappy MS software for work. There’s nothing to be done but to pity them.

That’s exactly why I started using a purse. I keep it by the door, and I find it very easy to remember to take it with me every time. It has my wallet, house keys, bike lock key, reading glasses, etc. All the things that I have forgotten so many times before.

I’m a guy, btw, and I’m sad that I let societal pressures keep me from purses for so long.
