Juggling is so much fun, if you never tried it you should start immediately. Bring a little bit of patience and you can master 3 balls quite fast. Plus point: it does really good things to your hand-eye-coordination and you will be surprised how much your reflexes can improve with a little bit of regular juggling. Highly recommended!

Trees@lemmy.world•Please share some good resources and guides for growingEnglish
4·4 days agoOnce you do this long enough, you can write a book or two about getting started… Here are my personal favorites:
- Cannabis is a weed. It will grow everywhere, if you let it. (Most important part. New growers often overdo it, slowly killing their plant with love. Just let it do it’s thing and wait)
- Make sure you understand the basics about substrate, light, heat and cycles of growth. Get a cheap LED growlight. Don’t bother with soil/coco, start with hydroponics (it’s very easy for beginners).
- Don’t invest too much money in your first grow. It will come over time.
And, of course, make sure you don’t do anything illegal…or do it, I’m not your father.

Growdiaries - Nice pictures and lots of good info (would be cool with federation…)
SeedFinder - Strains and stuff, database with growers and sellers
Check the big seed companies websites, they have very good blogs and wikis with lots of info.

Mine broke twice in 3 years, exactly the same part. Not sure if I want to repair them a third time. I love the idea that you can repair everything, but at some point it’s just too expensive with the shipping and all.

33·17 days agoThe German government said in October that it would take over the payment of some 11,000 local employees at US military facilities as a show of good faith, anticipating repayment when the shutdown was resolved.
What about this? Hoping to get the money back from the current administration seems…naive…

That is spot on! I grew up in the 90s with mixed joints, I can’t smoke pure herbs without throwing a fit. It is somewhat tolerable with a good vape and long hardened homegrown, but I still prefer my oldschool bong-mix. At least we have active coal filters these days…

Dogs@lemmy.world•I think our dog Brownie is a little scared todayEnglish
1·19 days agoI have to come back to the training, because that’s exactly my point. You don’t have to test trustworthiness when your dog is properly trained. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but I’ve seen too many owners who don’t understand that concept. Give your dog the right set of rules and he will love your little pack. It does not mean to teach them submissiveness!
Btw, how old is he?

Dogs@lemmy.world•I think our dog Brownie is a little scared todayEnglish
3·19 days agoFrom the grainy pic I can only guess some sort of healthy terrier-mix. If there’s some dachshund in him you can tell by the stubornness ;) We had two of those, with a gay poodle as companion. That was a funny pack.
That is a nice NAS, when I got my Terramaster F4-420 I immediately upgraded RAM, put a SSD in the hidden 5th slot and installed TrueNAS. Almost overkill since I only need it for some NFS shares now, but in the beginning I was experimenting with iSCSI partitions and that was real fun. Also the firmware back then allowed for full virtualization, so I was running a homelab for testing and education.

10·19 days agoAre you doing some training? Because it sounds like there might be more problems underneath which can be fixed with a good trainer, for a better quality of life for Brownie. Try to find a respected (!) trainer, don’t watch tiktok or youtube. They can work wonders and you two will have a better understanding of each other and your relation.
But first, lose the chain. You have to respect this for now. He just needs to feel safe with you, maybe you can redirect his attention later with some play or a walk. If you really want to keep the chain you have to do training, but without knowing the dogs character I can only speculate how long this will take.
