Im the sole IT guy at a non profit. I could probably have a movie playing, but if power shell is open I’m covered. It’s hilarious and glorious.

Your love for Ziggy is so apparent even through this virtual space. You have done so well by her just by loving her the way you do. Perfection is not required. You are a blessing for her. Hope things improve immediately for you both! Huge hugs!!!
I can be, but am not always. I actually find niceness to be a highly overvalued character trait. Some of the most back stabbing, manipulative, wishy washy, fake people I have ever known were incredibly nice. In fact, they used their niceness as a shield and mask for their awful character traits. Took a long time to realize that niceness is not so important. Far more important are loyalty, reliability, willingness to admit fault, willingness to listen, and so on. Niceness is just basic human civility. I don’t care how nice you are if you are a manipulative and fake.
I saw it articulated as “the greenest thing anyone can do is not have kids.” Pretty cynical, but also true. Unfortunately, there tends to be a lot of overlap between truth and cynicism.
It’s about as annoying as young people abandoning any and all punctuation entirely. The amount of people that will write an entire paragraph and not use a single period is obscene. If you can’t bother to organize your thoughts in the most minimal way, I’m going to assume you have nothing of worth to say and just won’t read it. And frankly, if what you’re saying is so boiler plate you don’t need punctuation, then you really don’t have anything to add, so probably just shouldn’t.
I am truly flabbergasted in the best way. Today is a good day.
Super interesting read, thanks for sharing!
Well if that’s the secret then I’m well on my way! Lol. Thanks for the encouragement!!
That looks incredible! So envious of your skills. As for me, I have been trying desperately to grow a basil plant indoors. I’ve tried many times in the past, but they always end up with those little mites. I purchased neem oil spray too, and still they got to it. My partner said they saw some worms in the most recent plant, like transparent worms almost? so we got rid of that one too. I am going to grow from seed next time I think. I feel like I have just had bad luck and gotten infested plants or something, so maybe growing from seed will be better? I don’t even know. I just so badly want to be able to walk to the corner of my kitchen and grab some fresh herbs. Ina Garten has a whole ass garden of herbs, can’t I have one plant? lol! I will be trying again though. Wish me luck, I will absolutely need it.
No
Had a busy weekend, my brother was in town with his family so spent the last 48 hours with them. Love them, but they are pretty exhausting lol. This week at work is looking to be pretty chill, so all in all, not bad. Hope everyone has a fantastic week ahead!
Great article on a terrible event, thank you for sharing. So sad for his family and the families of all the other victims. And even more sad for the poc who are being actively victimized every day. Wishing them and all of us some peace and joy in this life. Acab.
Cooking! I’ve tried to post in that community a couple times with a bit of success. I’m going to commit to posting more though. But you’re so right. I love people nerding out over the niche things they love. Thanks for the encouraging post!
Totally agreed!
I agree with this entirely, but I think the missing context is the mental health of our admins. Not to mention the sheer number of hours of unpaid labor they do, they are subjected to some heinous things. I don’t want them to sacrifice themselves for us. I will follow beehaw if they leave, I already have another lemmy account to see a wider scope of the fediverse, but beehaw is too special to abandon.
Had the same response. The headline itself reeks of spin.
“While Hubble images took 122 hours to produce, JWST’s — collected nine years after Hubble’s — took just 22 hours.” That tidbit is crazy to me. Really, the whole thing is crazy to me.
I’m open as well. But the precedent has been set that the average sequel/prequel/remake is not as good as the first. Here’s hoping they do it well!
Precisely this. Not to mention your premise about reproducing fails when placed in front of a large majority of the queer community. Childless gay man here, by choice. I am extremely pleased, some may even say fulfilled, with my choice to not reproduce.
