My theory is that the flagship needs to be thiner and lighter than the “cheaper” models, thus reducing its battery capacity.

Are you looking to build your own server?
If you’re thinking about building one, the Jonsbo N4 is a compact case (~20L) that fits up to six 3.5" drives and two 2.5" drives/SSDs. It’s a nice choice if you want something small but expandable. Just note that you’ll need to pick out your own components, and there are some limits when it comes to power supplies and CPU coolers.
It’s sort of an open secret for years now. But I’m not totally convinced that it will work well.
I have a Chromebook with a Ryzen APU (Ryzen 3250 or smth). And while it handles all web tasks really well, it completely struggles with Android Apps. Even apps like “YouTube Kids” or “Prime Video” run far worse than their web couterparts.
And I’m not even talking about gaming - even old games like “cut the rope” run at unplayable framerates.
(my guess is that the whole virtualization framework is holding these apps back.)
My personal take is to go for last year’s high-end hardware. Of course with modern tech, you lose one year of software updates/support, but often at 30-50% off compared to the latest generation.
With an expected usable lifespan of 5-7 years, this is a good deal.
Good news is that Pixel phones prices drop fast. For example, the price of Pixel 9 dropped from 900€ to 550€ in less than one year.
Graphene OS posted that having the device trees is not a strict requirement.
Just as a side node, make sure to backup your immich / nextcloud services too.
According to AMD, there are patches available for the affected CPUs.
not much, apparently.
I think “hot dog” was used as an example here. A hot dog has around 50 grams of meat (1.8 oz).
I might be wrong, but it sounds like hosted nextcloud, not a completely new platform.
Thats from the current nextcloud docs:
We strive to bring Artificial Intelligence features to Nextcloud. This section highlights these features, how they work and where to find them. All of these features are completely optional. If you want to have them on your server, you need install them via separate Nextcloud Apps.
Note that Hungary and Austria will get a smaller 5,300mAh pack.
Seems interestingly specific. Why these two countries?
While this phone looks great, I’m still mad that they omitted the proximity sensor in previous models (F3, F4 at least).
My F3 sucked as a phone, because it often picked up calls automatically or called emergency numbers from my pocket.
I don‘t think religion is to blame for what some abuse it for.
Are you black or the duck army?
Even for pixel devices, it can take a while. Unless you choose to install it manually.
Yeah apparently the desktop doesn’t even load when this launcher is used. But it’s still an option.
I don’t think not loading the desktop will really help much. Maybe it will free up a few hundred MB of memory.
From what I saw, it’s more or less just a new app that starts when windows boots up. Plus some improvements like “the controller now works in UAC prompts” - which tells me that they didn’t really learn anything.
