Is liberal supposed to have a negative connotation?
Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, right to private property and equality before the law.

These remarks could discourage others from reading a useful and well-written article.
I still use GnuPG on occasion, but I’ve benefited from incorporatingsops
and age
into repositories. They’re pretty slick.
You do you man. I’m just trying to share some information that helped me.
For what it’s worth, some say that PGP is bad and needs to go away. I found that article pretty interesting when learning sops
.
Thanks for the explanation. I’m in the Xennial cohort, and I never could develop an appreciation for gaming lexicons. I know every generation has their slang, but it does add some challenges with a broader audience.
I’m so glad to see some progress at last.
On a side note, I’m not sure what your last sentence means. I keep seeing people use the word “based” but I refuse to look it up 😄.
Canada works pretty well without them. If you forget your bags though you have to buy more.
Great! Now do other 49.
I’m going to vote for bad idea on this one too. Teenagers make emotional decisions, and I only see this encouraging kids to make bad decisions to receive attention.
Interesting article: https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?ContentTypeID=1&ContentID=3051
In fact, recent research has found that adult and teen brains work differently. Adults think with the prefrontal cortex, the brain’s rational part. This is the part of the brain that responds to situations with good judgment and an awareness of long-term consequences. Teens process information with the amygdala. This is the emotional part.
Everyone knows something I don’t. It’s a good thing for folks to be involved in the democratic process. Politicians aren’t gods or super heroes. They can be wrong as easily as the rest of us.
Citizens United allows those with deep pockets to speak much louder than the rest, and this is a huge problem.
“If the left is not willing to actually follow through and withhold their votes”
Wthholding your vote only helps Trump. Candidates know they have to appease the folks with money. We’re fighting the wrong bad guy - focus on reversing Citizens United.
Dockerfile
s act as instructions for the docker
(or compatible) CLI to use for building OCI container images. Images may or may not have layers and can be exported as a tarball for inspection (with tools like dive
).
Nix provides native support for building container images, and the resulting archive must be loaded using docker load
. There is another library (nix2container
) that aims for better performance and relies on skopeo
for copying the built image to a docker-compatible server, local or remote.
Just wanted to share a some of the information I’ve learned. Cheers!
I currently use NixOS and nix-darwin, and I’ve enjoyed the ride so far. I use flakes with direnv for reproducible development environments, and this has been working out well. I’ve also been impressed with using Nix to build OCI containers.
The learning curve isn’t flat, but the ecosystem is fantastic.
I almost feel bad that I haven’t. I’ve used their documentation for years but never installed the distro. Most recently I’ve been having fun with NixOS.
Most aren’t aware, but this is the crux of the issue. Evangelicals do not value equity and presume others are ignorant/incorrect.
This is silly in our current voting system. Not voting in this election is equivalent to voting for Trump.
People on the right (e.g. evangelicals) often see voting as their responsibility and will vote for whomever they see as the lesser of two evils. Those of us on the left get too bourgeois about our candidates. Our failure to vote keeps moving the window right!

I used to hold the same belief and considered myself a proponent of limited governance. However, the individuals I know that advocated for smaller government did so because they preferred to be governed by the church instead.
I don’t believe that labeling others as liberal or conservative helps anything.
