  • I’m okay in that I’m an adult and will never interact with that woman ever again if I have it my way. I’m not okay in that I’m an underemployed trans man in the south.

I have epilepsy and probably TD from the time when she had me knocked out for 2 weeks on Resperdal as punishment for telling on her (she’d get too fucked up on weed and oxy to remember to pick me up from school.) PTSD specifically related to mental health care makes it very difficult to get mental health care, even if I had insurance. EMDR would probably be best for long term help, but my therapist is worried that it would trigger me to the point that I couldn’t function. I wanted to move out of state to get away from my triggers, but right now really I’m just trying to hold on to my apartment.

I’ll be okay when the child torture facility that helped her do that is closed down. Weed and art and Star Wars are here to remind me that it isn’t all pain.

  • More that these jobs do not pay enough to pay for the degree, or even enough to simply afford a place to live without a second job.

US millennials were told growing up that literally all you had to do was get a bachelors, because that’s how it worked in previous generations. We had to take out ridiculous loans to pay for this, because even in-state tuitions have been out of control for about two decades now. Now, the job market is shit (and really has been since we entered the job market.) It doesn’t matter how smart or capable you are. The US doesn’t want smart or capable right now.

I remember getting my first check as a teacher. When I calculated the amount of time I spent working, and my pay bump from being a fast food supervisor to yah know, a degreed professional expected to work 80+ hour weeks didn’t mean jack or shit, especially when I had to buy my own supplies.

    It’s fucked up.

  • Where are you getting that he had an MD? Looks like his dad did.

In 2011, the Maryland Board of Physicians charged David Geier, who is not a physician and has only a bachelor’s degree, with illegally practicing medicine alongside his father, Mark Geier, a doctor who died last month. The two treated children with Lupron, a drug used to lower testosterone or estrogen levels in patients with prostate cancer, endometriosis and other diseases, along with chelation therapy, which leaches heavy metals from the body, as in lead poisoning.

Why isn’t the right having a meltdown? This guy gave autistic kids puberty blockers.
