Every annual-ized video game. 2K, Fifa, Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed. Copy and paste, low effort trash that offers nothing new, different, or interesting. They’re designed to be as bland and disposible as possible, to keep you addicted for a year and selling you loot boxes and additions until the next edition comes out.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Does it ever bother some of you that "I'm switching to Linux!" is just more of a way to appear rebellious than actually committing to the choice?

17·19 days agoWhat a world we live in where not only does something like this happen, but that it’s allowed to happen. Companies don’t even get a slap on the wrist anymore, they can just do whatever they want now without any repercussions, that’s what’s really scary about this.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is the most relieving thing you've done for yourself?
3·21 days agoI can definitely relate to that. I thought I’d be happy at my old job because the pay was so good, but the hours were long and the work was exhausting. I convinced myself taking a lesser paying job would be a step down and make my life worse, but after a particularly bad month I took the plunge and left. I’m making less now, but the schedule is sane and the work hits the right balance between not too difficult but not too easy either.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Many EU states want to allow the US access to biometric police data
41·25 days agoIt seems like every time I seen news from the EU, it’s about how they’re frothing at the mouth to give up even more sovereignty to the US in exchange for literally nothing. Can someone living in the EU please explain what’s going on?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some of your favorite digital tools?
1·1 month agoRight now LibreOffice, Writer specifically. I’ve been getting back into writing big time over the last few months and having a dependable word processor that’s not crammed with AI tools I don’t want and that I know is FOSS has been great.
