I think it’s more that people think winning is more important than performative losing. It’s not pragmatic to promote talking points that hurt your own cause.

For example, I’d wager that cutting hundreds of billions from Medicaid will hurt the general population AND the trans population far more than gender affirming care for kids or trans rights in sports would benefit trans people.

And consider this, every time we lose, it’s going to get worse and worse and keep shifting the Overton Window to the right.

Are we supposed to pretend that strategy and tactics aren’t applicable to politics? Winning the broader war wins many smaller battles by default.

The vast majority of consumers do not watch or read reviews. They walk into a Best Buy or whatever retailer and grab the box that says GeForce that has the biggest number within their budget. LTT even did a breakdown at some point that showed how even their most watched reviews have little to no impact on sales numbers. Nvidia has the mind share. In a lot of people’s minds GeForce = Graphics. And I say all that as someone who is currently on a Radeon 7900XTX. I’d be sad to see AMD and Intel quit the dGPU space, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Primaries are where we can fight. Every DINO needs to be primaried, and we need to start fucking showing up to primaries. IIRC primary elections are voted in by only like 10-20% of eligible voters.

I decided to play Overwatch until I could zen out and exude peace and cooperation. The idea that a game and the people playing it could make me irrationally angry made me rue my lack of self regulation. Took time and patience but I did get there! I don’t know about you but I drive over 5-10km regularly. For a short miserable stretch my daily commute was 90 miles. Buying household groceries or anything of size sounds annoying or impossible on bike. And then there’s work tools and whatnot that many professionals keep in vehicle.
