2·5 months agoI’m not sure, but I think part of the problem is that the votes are “real”. Since every instance has to have the same number of up/down votes they can’t get away with fudging the numbers. I have no hard evidence that reddit does, but I suspect they do to increase engagement.
Ohh that’s good. I always use the “try another outlet”, but it backfires sometimes when they move the whole desk to another outlet

21·6 months agoIt’s hard to have this argument without coming across as advocating for eugenics, but I completely agree. The fact that increasing women’s education is so strongly correlated with decreased population growth is not a coincidence.
The difference between a eugenicists and whatever the hell I am is that I think the solution is to educate more people, not to control their right to reproduce.

How can you simply learn about a fact that doesn’t effect your life and just move on!? Get angry, be horrified, buy a weirdly long picket sign and go to every pride parade to express your discomfort and let it putrefy into a deeper bigotry
Historically “racist” is the bunk pseudoscience that claimed white people are more intelligent than other racial groups. When you refer to someone in the modern age as racist you are comparing them to those idiots. It wouldn’t make a lot of sense to compare somebody to that group for disliking white people.
To answer the deeper question you’re hinting at, although the post is racially predigest, making fun of white people for being white is generally considered punching up which is not frowned on in the same way as punching down.

The video was well researched and overall a very good description of life in salt lake, less so in other counties like st George. As he said in the video 80% of the population resides in “the valley”, and he didn’t really concern himself with the rest of the state. I also wouldn’t choose to live in Provo or Spanish Fork as a queer person despite them being in the valley, but I wouldn’t consider them dangerous or actively hide it there.
