You also don’t have a 50% chance the comment you’re replying to is from a bot and copy and pasted either from that post, another random post, or even the original post that a repost bot stole posted snd you are now commenting on. Reddit is a bot riddled mess.
JESUS FUCK. I can pay $20 a month for UNLIMITED movies.
Edited to include a summary of what I’ve done so far. I may try to go more in depth with it, but I am thinking of making a new post detailing what I did after I get it up and running fully functional. That way I’ll know all the mistakes I made and bumps encountered and how I overcame them. I will make sure to include a link to the post in an edit here when it’s done.
I just made a post about having issues with getting a fully functional instance so I think I’m gonna give this a try.
Does stealing memes from discord servers and posting them here count? Asking for a friend…
I’m attempting to set up a self hosted instance so that I can control who I’m Federated with or not. Probably will just keep it open though, and I’d have to be a real asshole to get my instance defederated anywhere lmao.
Yea but if you host with a major cloud server provider you’re basically having 100% uptime because they very very rarely go down and so the only issues would be stuff you’d have to deal with.
FYI there’s a browser extention that’ll solve those for you. So much for checking for robots lmao.
I’ve had better experience sorting by hot. Still some refreshing but not as bad since post positions don’t move as much if they do
Same here, I’ve been using it for over a decade.
I may be wrong about that, I just heard rumors. I think at least one 3rd party reddit app dev is.
If Lemmy continues to get more popular and more 3rd party reddit app devs make Lemmy apps like what RiF is doing that’ll probably have a lot of people satisfied. I like Jebroah but I’d definitely love to see Baconreader for Lemmy.
Yea I remember at first everyone was so excited and then they decided to absolutely destroy what made that app good.
I live in a rural area and don’t keep valuables in my car so mine stays unlocked at home. That plus I’d rather someone open my door, prowl through and find nothing then have a broke window because if they wanna steal my car it’s a 1989 so it’s easy af to start with no key so and they want it it’s gonna be gone whether they open the door or bust the window.
