You don’t necessarily need to keep the time to do it. You could just give yourself rest periods and push periods, but it’d probably be hard to keep the motivation without seeing number go up lol, at least to me. If all you get is total distance at the end, then I’d definitely just do the RPM thing. Just set a goal RPM and a rest RPM and bounce between the two as you are able to push total distance

When I use mine, I don’t do training like that. I end up playing Xbox or watching TV or 2-3 hours while I just pedal.

However, when I was doing that, the bike had preset “routes” you could do where the resistance changed on it’s own, and I’d just try to keep the same pace up for the 30min-1hr I was doing. It could also do it across distances. When I wasn’t doing the preset courses, I was just setting the resistance to what felt decent, and then keeping up my RPM (usually ~100). If I was really feeling myself, I’d up the resistance a bit. If it was a bad day, I’d drop it down. The total distance at the end would change based on the resistance I used, so I could at least always tell what days were “better” and which weren’t. The motivation was just wanting to see if I could beat my previous distance.

This is the same shit as before. Moskowitz offered to impeach in March this year, and they wouldn’t do it. They’ve been claiming for years that he’s done all this stuff, and he needs impeached. And then when offered a golden ticket to do so, they wavered.

There is nothing there. And even if there is, who gives AF, arrest him. I’m not losing sleep over it. They would have done it if they had the evidence before. And now, in August, with 3 months left and 2 months basically of lame duck time, they want to impeach him? It’s a political stunt, nicely timed with the start of the DNC.

Thanks! I spent years in Diamond, and had a mini goal to get to Champ. Never really been one to practice mechanics, it was just sheer rotation and positioning. Like I can’t hit off the wall with any kind of consistency. Hit it in like…2019 and haven’t played much since, I actually played last night prior to this comment for the first time in probably a year.

Only games I ever 100%ed were…Assassins Creed 1 and Rocket League, strictly by achievements only. Like I never made it past Champ in RL, and AC1 was really just beat game and collect flags. I never have the urge to 100% a game cause usually it’s just a grind for grinds sake and that isn’t fun to me

That’s what I imagined it would be, it’s just the act of starting it that is difficult for me. I’m on the 2nd book in 3 Body Problem and I can’t bring myself to start it, despite really enjoying the 1st one. And from what I’ve seen, the 2nd is better than the 1st lol

Yeah, I am a subscribed feed main. I want to see what I want, not wade through everything available to me. That may lead to me missing some stuff that may interest me, but so filters out a large portion of stuff I know I do not want to see.

I actually bought their Immune System book, just cause I’ve enjoyed their stuff for so long. I remember those stupid little birds over a decade ago, and the book serves a little more purpose than their general merch. It’s also really well illustrated. Haven’t had the time to read it yet, as it’s pretty lengthy and sorta dry as a “scientific” immune system picture book should sorta be, lol.

For as long as Kurzgesagt has been around, they’ve always been a favorite of mine. The art style, well-researched topics and cited articles, and corrections when needed have been a pretty nice change of pace given standard YouTube fare nowadays.

I never got the PS Pro controller but I’m well-versed in the Xbox Elite bullshit. The best way I’ve seen to go about it is to buy a Core Elite from Gamestop or a store that has their OWN in-house purchasable warranty (Target goes through All-State or something I think so you have to send it in). It’s $30 to Gamestop but I’m covered for a full-year for when the bumper inevitably goes. If, by some miracle, it doesn’t, I go anyway and exchange it for a new one at a local store for no controller cost, and pay Gamestop another $30 for the warranty. It’s cheaper than a new standard controller and I don’t have to deal with any additional warranty process. It’s just an exchange. It’s bullshit that it happens, but the game I play the most basically requires the back paddles.

I’ve never had stick drift on the Elites (or any controller otherwise), it’s just bumper problems. I’ve heard the SCUFS get drift pretty badly second-hand and their replacement process is much slower. The new Turtle Beach controller seems decent, but I have doubts about battery life and I’m not ready to buy-in on it yet. The PDP Victric with replacement modules feels very similar to the PS Pro issue where the modules just are never in stock so that’s out too.

Some enterprising business could make a killing with a decent controller, but apparently Xbox won’t license wireless controllers unless you do specific things with them, likely preventing any real pressure to get better.

Idk, NFS:U2 also had a good ass sound track lol. But yeah, just by virtue of the setting, Horizon has always had some good sound tracks. H4 got old real quick tho…

It’s gonna be hard to pick, because despite seeming like a pretty shallow genre, there are some pretty wild differences in gameplay. Arcade, Simcade, and Simulator all rely on different populations. People who enjoy Horizon are probably not lining up to play iRacing, and vice-versa.

In my opinion, I’d say one of the early Gran Turismo games, specifically 2 through 4. It was many people’s introduction to racing games and, at the time, was pretty cutting edge. That’s now changed with the Sim games, but there are plenty of Sim offerings now and it isn’t necessarily anything “groundbreaking” being released anymore.

I’m hesitant to agree with Horizon because I personally don’t enjoy it at all, but I understand the appeal of the first one, especially in a time where that concept was fairly new.

NFS:U2 Is also up there, due to the era. That was the epitome of late 90s/early 2000s car culture and had a large impact on the scene at the time, and just was a benchmark for the arcade side of stuff for a long time.

I hadn’t seen that; the last “official” position I saw on it was that it was still in question on how he obtained it, but that it was presumed to be his father’s. But even then, that highlights difficulties with gun ownership. Someone giving me a car doesn’t grandfather me in to use, so if it was gifted from his father, that bypasses some current checks. If it was a gun his father owned that he took, then it likely wasn’t secure as it should be, again failing the traditional gun safety terms and responsible ownership.
