To give the most simple and likely reason is just so that there are a restricted set of levels. Adding a “freeplay” mode that can generate random maps is not part of the plan because that would make the regular levels look less desirable. There is also many odd quirks available with special rules. It’s not just because they did not think about generating random maps for those who finished the game. It is so that they can keep control over the game in a way that players are kept playing longer without risking burnout. They don’t want to make the game become a chore but rather a daily task/quest. Spending money to read the last level faster by getting more energy and whatnot is just a plus for them. They know that sunk cost feeling will keep those kinds of players coming back. If not, then it was unlikely the infinite freeplay would.

There are literally laws that say you can donate with no liability. It’s a common misconception that is too pervasive even in those who are in charge.

In fact, the ones who do realize they can do it with no liability have calculated the costs of throwing away(trash removal is subsidized) vs creating an entirely new process for donating food and worry about its handling(vs. The very lax and rough handling trash gets). Not to mention that they will have to move it to a separate location as it can bring unwanted traffic that is not profitable.

Donating is not an easy task. It’s a burden, and there isn’t a public service to make it easier and similar in cost to trash removal services. It’s not the company’s fault. It’s the government and charities that are not getting involved.

Funnily enough, this is what a chromebook was made to do. A computer that was only a browser. Unfortunately, the hardware was severely underpowered, and the custom software wasn’t as flexible as a simple Linux desktop is capable of. (Almost no software support outside of Google)
