Wow! It’s so nice that the company got back to him! /s
But, seriously, I’m not doing take home projects anymore. I recently interviewed at a company that rhymes with Lagi. They asked me to build an app for them for 2 weeks. I did. I sent them the project and then they just fucking ghosted me. I sent them 3 follow up emails and nothing. Not even a rejection.

This is the way. I’m happy to do take home projects; I have a portfolio of past projects that I’d be happy to let you review before signing me as a contractor. Once we discuss the project’s scope, I can put together a bid for it.
Oh, you didn’t want to pay for the projects? You just wanted me to do them for free, so you could steal them and ghost? Well I’m not interested in expanding my portfolio, (as I mentioned previously, I already have a robust portfolio that I can give to prospective clients), so I’m glad this conversation has saved both of us some time. Please feel free to reach back out in the future, if you ever have any projects worth paying for.
A formerly famous tech company took me through two technical interviews and a behavioral interview one right after another, the technical interview environment did not work, the facilitators weren’t familiar with the technologies I was being quizzed on, they kept interrupting me, and then they of course failed me because I wasn’t showing an independent thinking process
