Been playing the Re-Console modpack for Minecraft to get that nostalgic feel. Since Iris was installed, I downloaded the “Super Duper Vanilla” shaderpack to see what Minecraft could have been like back in TU1 if the cancelled Super Duper Graphics pack was around then.
The old crafting menu is very nostalgic too. I still think it’s better than the recipe book in vanilla Java.
I’ve owned the Java version of the game since before survival mode and don’t remember the game ever having a tutorial or pre generated map at all.
Only the console versions had them.
The Xbox 360 edition was my introduction to Minecraft, I’m still sad I had to delete my very first world. Some glitch happened and I spawned on the nether roof, no way to kill myself back then.
Why they replaced this perfectly fine console version with a port of the mobile version is still beyond me
I do. I really want the tutorial maps back
You can download the worlds ported to Java, or I’m sure the old MC360Edit would still work, or acquiring a disc and playing it while never connecting to the internet. Discs, while never really changing appearance, were released with varying preloaded Title Updates, so a few are available. It is possible! For me I got the Java ports, I believe from here
wait the console version is nostalgic for you? now I feel kinda old…
