YouTuber MrBeast has issued an apology after his ‘MrBeast Experience’ at a Las Vegas resort did not live up to the billing.

The event at Resorts World Las Vegas was advertised as an “immersive” and “unforgettable” experience that included exclusive games, a MrBeast-themed menu and mystery bags thought to contain limited edition merch, including one with a $10,000 (£7,550) gift voucher.

Instead, the guests camped out in their hotel rooms waiting days for their bags to arrive. And when they did, the guests were underwhelmed.

“I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates,” Ms Metta said.

Several users said on social media that they received T-shirts in different sizes, which could be purchased for $9 (£7) online.

Because he is happy to licence his face and brand to any Tom, Dick or Harry. He certainly got his payment, so oh well.

I have never watched a single video of his.

I never want to do it either.

He was in a video I watched once. I don’t remember the whole context, something to do with how he was so successful at working YT’s algorithm. Had never heard of the guy before then, and all of the content samples they showed were braindead nothingburgers.

Lol nice try. I think you could probably do a better job misrepresenting my arguments next time though.

Either that, or brush up a bit on cause and effect.

How many alts do you have?

And who the fuck is “person prole”?

Thanks for providing context so anyone who comes across this can see how ridiculous you look right now.

Maybe don’t link to a comment mid-convserarion though.

I know having someone challenge your beliefs can be tough, but following them around on a web forum is a strange way of coping. You are behaving in a very odd way.

If you actually want to talk through the crisis you’re having, I’m here. Otherwise, I would appreciate it if you stopped wasting my time.

              Enjoy your weekend.

Buddy, I’m not following you around. I’m casually perusing Lemmy. Look at your comment history, shitposting and being a bitter salty contrarian is your full time job here, which I didnt know, hence my surprise to run into you again.

You’re not here. None of your comments - to me or others - display any kind of willingness to listen or openness to other people’s viewpoints. You never respond to people’s points, just talk over them, so carry on. You’re making Lemmy look busy and a valid alternative to Reddit lurkers, and provide downvotable content, so I’m grateful for your contributions either way.

That’s the only possible upside to the nation sinking into a dictatorship, at least we’ll never have a duly elected President Beast… Silver linings and whatnot.

Max Headroom was about a society that decided their elections via tv ratings. We’re kinda already there.

We’ve already reached the point where only billionaires or celebrities can be candidates, extra points if they’re both. Kim Kardashian stands a better chance of being the first woman president over Harris, AOC, Warren, or any other qualified woman.

Mr Beast is the quintessential example of someone who defines themselves by their unfathomable success, attributing it to their unique work-ethic and dedication, and then collapses under the weight of their impossibly large ego

I hate influencers too so I get it, but I figure its mostly kids and young adults who grew up watching him, so I put the blame more on the systems and communities they grew up in.

Those kids should have been protected by say… A strong consumer protections board, or parents controlling their screen time & curating their viewing, government banning phones at school, or outright banning social media for kids, or a quality education teaching them media literacy - but all of those things are demonized as bad things that those socialist European countries have.

He’s not sorry for anything honestly. He will continue to do bs like because of this fans. It maybe funny and cringe now but it will be interesting if he tries to run for office or alines with a political party. “ hey guys I just bought an election!”

Frankly? The problem is, they do stay in those pens/pastures/suburban/semi-rural “communities” (straight-up engineered for their smooth, barely-verbal brains), and their minders know exactly where, when, and how to rustle 'em, as it were.

A metaphorical herd of cattle can be many things, including a gawdamned stampede.

What they’ll never be in the eyes of those in charge of them, though? Human.

Replying to a fan’s complaint on X, Donaldson admitted it “definitely isn’t the experience we hoped they’d deliver” and promised to make it up by inviting everyone affected to his studio.

I feel like this could have been on purpose. If it wasn’t he would have offered refunds.

I doubt it. Inviting to the studio is probably way cheaper - not everyone will do it since people would have to travel, and even when they come, there’s not much cost to a quick tour or whatever.

The issue is in the text. “We hoped they’d deliver.” This wasn’t a Mr Beast project, it’s something someone paid to slap his name and branding on and they did what people who usually do this stuff do. Hoped the branding would carry them and made an experience for as cheap as possible hoping to take in the cash.

I’m not saying Mr Beast is a good dude, but the stuff that he is actually personally involved in seems to at least have effort, even if it isn’t good. This was definitely a “we want to do a show we will pay you so we can call it the Mr Beast whatever.” His team said fine and he let them do whatever, and this third party squeezed money out of it and bungled it.
