The president has immunity. He can grant impunity to his aides by promising them pardons. He knows the courts could never enforce their decisions since the Department of Justice will do his bidding, whatever it may be—and he’s acting like it.

      Dictators are known for keeping potential threats to their power around after they’ve outlived their usefulness so surely things will be fine, right?
