    Also really useful at many tedious work things, that used to take a lot of time. Not going anywhere, but hype will simmer down at some point to a more reasonable level.

      Public sector hype may change forms, but governments and corporations and financial institutions are going to be quietly developing this tech like it’s the cold-war all over again. Maximum effort, no brakes.

        Depends, a slowdown in the financial markets can actually drain a lot of loose investor money from this. Most likely if the trade war thing heats up, money for AI development will shrink.

          Maybe in private or commercial sector, but defense budgets are NEVER touched. Nor should they be, everyone knows right now the nation that develops the most intelligent strategic prediction systems will basically dominate the world.
