If humanity 10,000 years ago was reduced to a handful of individuals and survived. 8 billion humans and their descendants aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. This is wealthy individuals afraid there won’t be people around to do labor for cheap. Also because our economic systems are nonsensical and require infinite growth in a finite world.
