It’s not the same over here… I miss reddit. People on Lemmy are defeatet and/or want to go full world war 3, instead of uniting to prevent it. How many people on here are bots?.. How many on here are spies… I miss reddit. There were bad people over there too… But the majority were good. The majority were logical and united. I miss reddit. I think I don’t like Lemmy.
Go on. Tell me all the ways reddit sucks. Don’t give me hope of unification. Don’t stand with me. Just write the comment you came here to write.
It kind of sounds like you’re the defeatist one? Let’s just vibe, dude. What have you been up to lately?
Sorry bud, I understand your position. I miss the old reddit too but less so what it has morphed into the past couple years. Lemmy is young, and yeah, some folks here walk/cross some lines I wouldn’t. There is a bit of a bot problem creeping in but lemmy is t big enough for that to be a serious problem yet.
But then again you’re exactly the user we need. My presence here is what I want lemmy to be and yeah, I’ve locked horns with some folks on some discussions. In the end it’s us users who make lemmy what it is.
Well, tell me what you want to see…
This place is yours to build and make better without the heavy hand of spez and corporate Reddit. Sure there are power tripping egotistical mods, trolls and bots here just the same, but you can report bad behaviour, contribute non-defeatist good discussion with more thoughtful nuanced takes, submit non-political content in posts, and actually make a difference, unlike Reddit.
Maybe [email protected] is for you. Make that community active.
If you’ve given up on Lemmy already, then I don’t know what else to say but good luck on your search for a place that better fits your needs.
PS Reddit wasn’t built in a day either and it was literally built up by bot traffic in the beginning.
This is what I was searching for. Thank you.
This place is yours to build and make better Spot-on remark. This exactly the feeling Lemmy gives me. It’s new and growing but definitely searching it’s position. There is more of a learning-curve than reddit, but the more I learn, the more I like it. I quit reddit cold-turkey and never looked back, never had regrets.
I mean, the big difference is that on Reddit, you’re the product. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am on both and trying to gradually transition over to here. One thing is to be aware that you can block entire instances here. Once I blocked hexbear and lemmygrad, the quality of my feed improved pretty dramatically.
Oh my God stop being so melodramatic and go back to the algorithm-fueled slop of nureddit. “You don’t like Lemmy” NEWSFLASH ASSHOLE: We don’t like YOU here if you’re only going to complain
To be fair if you arbitarily get banned from reddit, going back to reddit is a MASSIVE pain in the ass if possible.
If you are right, then you are among friends, for you sound defeated too (merely an observation)
May I ask what brought/keeps you here? It’s not like reddit is a thing from the past, you can go back to reddit.
I haven’t found that to be the case. However I did spend some time customizing the communities in my Home feed to have less news/politics and more stuff I like.
That definitely helps
There’s a handful of major posters on Lemmy who spread doom. The experience is much nicer once you block them.
List of those…?
What makes Lemmy hard is the absurd left leaning bias. It makes Reddit look right leaning in comparison.
Balance is what is always needed, lack of it leads to Trump’s.
Ha. Classic case of cry about it.
