CHICAGO – Today, Mayor Brandon Johnson signed the “ICE Free Zone” executive order, which creates clear mechanisms to prohibit federal immigration agents from using any City-owned property in their ongoing operations in Chicago. The order expands upon Mayor Johnson’s Protecting Chicago initiative, inviting local businesses and community organizations to join the citywide effort to safeguard our communities, while advancing measures to rein in the reckless behavior of federal immigration agents.

Thought I might post an actual primary source for once instead of propos from your favorite news infotainment websites 👍

Just think about how many ICE couldn’t cut it for police or military so they washed out into ICE, border patrol, DHS, etc that just recruit bodies as long as you are violent and dumb enough to follow illegal orders. Acab but these rejects are so fucked even cops won’t let them in their gang.

City Departments and agencies will identify all spaces that have been or may be used for federal immigration enforcement operations. City workers will then ensure that all such properties exhibit clear signage stating:

This property is owned and/or controlled by the City of Chicago. It may not be used for civil immigration enforcement, including as a: Staging area, Processing location, Operations base

Those fuckers are going to single out those spaces to operate from just to be assholes, aren’t they…

It says it creates clear mechanisms to declare property as ice free. But does it create a mechanism to enforce it? I didn’t see that in the article, but I wonder if the executive order expands on it.

Enforcement is the line between a political disagreement and a civil war. As soon as a state tries to physically defend itself, the gloves are off. Trump is desperately trying to provoke that moment before midterms.

I agree completely. Which is why the governors have been firm with their words and lawsuits, but nothing else.

Honestly, I think Trump’s only goals right now is to get the Supreme Court to give the thumbs up to Trump sending in troops. Then he won’t need an excuse to send them in for midterms. And lower courts won’t be able to slow him down as they have to follow what the SC says.

Their strategy is always to play the victim. Never be the cause for a crisis, just the one resolving it.

But yeah, if nothing else, they’ll just stick to the story that Chicago and Portland are bloody, war ravaged crime dens, and the military is there to help in spite of the democrats.

There is no enforcement. The mayor said federal agents would not be arrested, and the city would basically just sue the federal government for breaking the law.

C’mon Hochul. This is the time to step up. Do this for NY state. And get the rest of the northeast states to follow.
