I have a portfolio with some $QQQM and $SCHD but I have been shying away from foundational stocks because it seems like they have an overexposure to big tech. When I invest in $QQQM I can control the amount of exposure.
I also am a dividend focused investor. It allows me to have the cash to pivot plans without selling and have a financial safety net should I become unemployed for example.
It seems like even any broad market ETF is still weighted towards big tech. The size of companies like Microsoft and Nvidia is staggering.
I’m personally a full on Boglehead. I think the simpler the better, so I stick with the 3 fund philosophy. If I was starting today, it’d be the 2 fund philosophy since VTWAX/VT was released.
