Much of the technology we’re introducing with Voyagers is shared with our next game, Light No Fire, which is a truly open world, a shared Earth-sized planet, with real oceans to traverse, needing large boats and crews. We love that we get to share this technology with players early.
wait, is this the first real update about Light No Fire since announcement? does this mean we are getting fully modular and customisable seafaring ships in LNF?
It sounds like they’re creating features for Light No Fire and backporting it to No Man’s Sky. Or, they’re adding features to both simultaneously. Either way, good on them. Any other studio would have halted work on NMS and just focused on the next game.

That’s what it sounded like.

Honestly, it’s pretty fuckin’ clever to be intensely testing this stuff “live” in an active game.
They also sell $12M in sales annually, years after release. Which is a great model for a small studio.
