So around the time it was revealed that the 6a batteries were defective the battery in my phone started swelling and now won’t hold a charge. I’ve waited to see if Ifixit would get any more stock but I just emailed them earlier this morning and they told me that they won’t have any stock in the foreseeable future.

Does anyone know of a way to get any batteries? Preferably official ones but a reliable third party one will work too.

UPDATE: I think I might just buy a refurbished Pixel 7 and return the replacement parts I already bought to Ifixit, that depends on if Google actually gives me the $100 that I requested.

UPDATE 2: I was awoken with an email notification this morning that said that Ifixit had been restocked with 15 6a batteries, I have bought one.

I’ve already submitted for this 10 days ago, I asked for the $100 at the time because I expected the batteries to be restocked eventually, haven’t heard any responses from google since.

Check your spam folder. I applied for the store credit and got an answer within 48h, but it went straight to my spam

I’ve been checking my spam folder constantly since the request, the only things that have appeared in there are aliexpress emails sadly.

Hm, I’m in the EU, in a country where a battery swap is not offered.
            Maybe that makes a difference.

I imagine we’re not in the same country so this is of relatively little use, but I had a gander and it does look like they’re in pretty low stock across the board. Some of the places that are out of stock have the price in the range of £20-£50. The only ones that are in stock are like £90, which speaks to how short in supply they are.

I can’t offer any advice unfortunately. In the past, I’ve found hard-to-source parts on sites like AliExpress, but I would personally feel nervous about doing this for a battery. I’m likely over cautious, but it’s hard to tell what is sufficiently legit, and batteries are scary.

If you go to their website they have a tool to find the nearest repair shop to you that can do the repair.
