As for the rest? They are trying to recreate the pandemic. They saw MASSIVE wealth from that because household spending on necessities was down (because we were all preppers with dry beans and crates of spam…) while luxury spending was through the roof as we were trying to drown out the voices telling us it was the end of the world. And, ignoring the people with long covid (since the world has been doing that for years), people were generally “okay”. Yeah, we all lost some loved ones but most people lasted long enough to get the vaccines that were more or less just awaiting FDA approval.
And hey, we already have vaccines for measles and mumps and so forth. What is that about a variant? Eh, who cares. We’ll figure it out. NUMBER GO UP!!!

I don’t have kids, but I’m always hearing from my coworkers in Texas about how their kids are bringing colds home, and how the schools get so bad that they have to close the schools down and go remote for a bit. If only there was some miracle of modern science that would help prevent this? Lol
