Should be a law stating that a release date has to be within 1 year of the announcement.

Why the fuck even announce it that early? Any hype you generate will die off quickly, and by the time it releases, the trickle of bullshit will have burned most people out to not giving a shit (coughstarfieldcough).
I miss the old pre-internet days when we only found out about new games in GamePro/GameInformer/PCGamer/Etc, and the release date was typically less than 6 months away by the time we found out about them.
and now i’m thinking about how awesome gaming magazines were, and how eagerly we’d wait for them for news and tips and art… and now I’m nostalgic and depressed cause they’re all gone.
