During his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump started ranting about how horrible Joe Biden was and blamed Biden for his failure to stop the war like he promised.
So, yeah, it was fucking dumb, and orangeboi is a categorical fucking imbecile, and it’s comically obvious that - up until about a week or two ago - he was infuriatingly russophilic, and disturbingly friendly with Putin.
With that said: it is also absolutely true that Biden slow-walking military aid for Ukraine (largely at the behest of his NS advisor, Jake Sullivan) was an absolute ass-tier strategic play. The constant haranguing of “oh, the F-16s are too complex” (they’re not), “oh, we don’t want to peeve the ruskies too much” (relying on scare tactics is one of the core elements of Putin’s geopolitical playbook), “oh, ATACMS would trigger a real response from Putin” (it didn’t), “oh, we didn’t mean THIS red line, we meant THAT red line” (hello, noncredible defense policy desk speaking, just a moment) has been, since very shortly after the start of the more active phase of the war in Feb 2022, deeply infuriating to a LOT of people, and it served as a milquetoast example of strategic leadership that the EU frustratingly refused to step beyond.
If orangeboi simply says “fuck it” and opens the floodgates for military aid… well, I will still fucking hate the guy for what he’s doing to my country by being in charge of it, but meaningful and significant aid to Ukraine is one hell of a silver lining. I was convinced Putin and orangeboi were just gonna try to slice Ukraine up like a Molotov Ribbentrop pie, but color me very pleasantly surprised that Putin’s intransigence has somehow actually gotten orangeboi to completely lose his patience with Russia.

I’ll believe it when timely and useful deliveries of US weapons actually take place. Until then, my assumption is that Trump remains Puto’s bitch.
