A homeowner in Goodyear, Arizona is locked in a dispute with his homeowner’s association over his practice of distributing free cold water from his driveway.

Odd this was not already cross posted…

Taking the right steps, HOAs are elected. This shit is what happens when election participation is low.

The HOA is correct in doing so. The man clearly planned to give out poisoned water and they couldn’t allow him to do that. After all, they thought of it first.

He was a clear and present threat to property values everywhere!

(That is the sole reason shit like this exists today. HoAs came about originally to keep nonwhites out of the neighborhood and now we’re stuck with them.)

I didn’t know it started as a way to keep non whites out. That’s interesting.

I’ve lived in a town where people leave broken down cars under chest high grass. Where toilets with a handful of wildflowers planted in the middle counted as a lawn ornament. Ridiculous shit like that. I prefer that to an HOA.

My favorite bit to pull out has always been “You know what I always looked forward to about owning my own home? All the fucking rules that come with it about what I’m allowed to put in the yard or paint it. Sign me up!”

This is hard to swallow. Any type of shared space like condos and townhouses and such require some sort of governing body. I know many towns basically force new construction even houses to do this to because they don’t want to pay for roads and garbage and such.
