Gonna be a shitshow when US matches don’t sell out.

I totally agree with you, but it feels weird saying things like this, because it’s what the xenophobes would also say.

Like foreign students. Telling them to stay away because it’s dangerous for them here feels wrong, even though it’s factually correct.

Please don’t spend your money here and help our rich get richer. Make us the example of how to not govern for the rest of the world.

If you were thinking of heading this direction, Canada is a great place to visit.

Until we recover our sanity, your tourist dollars are better spent pretty much anywhere else

Boycott the World Cup and any future Olympics that take place in this shit hole country. We don’t deserve to have them, and the people who come to cheer for the athletes don’t deserve to be treated like trash.

The majority of my Latino friends are into soccer. And the majority of them also voted for Trump. I really don’t think they care. It’s staggering.

Because shit countries have been a problem for big sporting events for… Never. It actually seems like a bonus since you dont have to be as coy with the bribe-asking.

It won’t be low turnouts, though. The majority of people who go to those things are wealthy, and the US doesn’t have a problem with them. Shit, wasn’t the last world cup rife with human rights violations?

Apparently the US only wants rich tourists. Wonder if the 5M Trump Gold card gets that fee waved. Somehow I doubt it.

Please take care of yourself and don’t come here. Spending your money anywhere else and leaving an empty seat at the WC is the best thing for all parties.

The Gold Card is a residency permit, so unless rules change again Gold Card holders wouldn’t need visas so wouldn’t have to pay the new fee.

And I don’t think it’s that we want only rich tourists. It’s that we are treating all foreigners as criminals. If you think of it more like “every foreigner belongs in jail, but you can pay bail to get out” it makes more sense. You only get your “bail” refunded if you “behave”…

Of course not. You only get the refund if you “behave”, and we’ve already established that this Administration thinks any foreigner who can’t afford 5 million dollars is a criminal…

Even then, if you can “only” afford $5m, you’re a criminal when you can’t pay the next round of dues.

Oh dont act like that. Qatar hosted the last one and it was rife with human rights violations. I doubt this will change much for the kind of people who go to these.

Not to diminish the obvious human rights violations at Qatar, but they’re charging a premium entry fee at $250 a person which may or may not guarantee entry with risk of possible detention and random deportation. People are seriously going to pay for that? Did Qatar do that? No really, serious question.

So they really hate tourists. Well, it’s their tourist industry.

But it will not be that problematic as they will missing the cheap immigrant labour in the hospitality business. The absence of foreign tourist will compensate for that.

They won’t be missing the cheap immigrant labor once they get to the stage in their plan where their concentration camps provide that labor for ‘free’.

It’s mainly not a problem because Orange Juice does not have to face the consequences of any of his decisions.

It’s most likely even the oppostie, he benefits from them.

Imagine if every time you did something bad you got rewarded for it.
