    Well all your American made cars just got more expensive. GM and Ford both do most of their manufacturing in Mexico.

    Weirdly Hyundai, Kia and Subaru all manufacture cars domestically. So foreign cars are now the cheaper option.

      The best estimates I can find place the work closer to 1/3rd in Mexico.

      With that being said, this specific tariff shouldn’t impact car prices because they would be exempt under USMCA. However, Trump’s steel tariffs will impact car prices.

        For reference, almost all manufacturing is done in Mexico. Final assembly is done in America and takes longer because the process still requires a lot of manual labour and quality assurance.

        “The work” is highly variable depending on location so lumping it all together means that a decent amount of nuance is lost.
