Ask any Australian/New Zealander who grew up in the late 2000s or early 2010s what they’re favourite show was and they’ll probably say something by Chris Lilley. In particular Summer Highs High or Jonah From Tonga. I used to love watching these shows when I was younger and Lilley is such a great actor. To this day there still quoted in schools all over NZ and Australia.
Aussie here that’s watched all of Corner Gas a couple of times, due to a recommendation from a Canadian friend. No-one else here has heard of it though. Big fan.
Along those lines, Kim’s Convenience! Except the last season when the writers gave up or something
You guys watch Trailer Park Boys or FUBAR over there? If not you should. Canadian TV at its highest caliber.
Also Kenny Vs Spenny.
I watched Trailer Park Boys on a recommendation from a co-worker many years ago. I’ll have to look up FUBAR. I espouse the joys of Letterkenny to anyone that will listen. I’m the wrong person to ask about what Australians in general watch, though. They all seem to only watch the likes of Married At First Sight and Master Chef. Ugh. I’ve always kinda just gone my own way.
If you like TPB you’ll like FUBAR. Same kind of humour.
And don’t sleep on Kenny vs Spenny. All the episodes are free on YouTube now.
