Huh, I’m not on discord often, but I did get some DMs begging me for a commission work, “it’s cheap bro, only 10 dollars bro” - bro, I live in fucking Brazil and earn BRL, not USD.
Didn’t know it was an actual scam attempt, just random spam from starving artists.
And they all use the same script, not an ounce of creativity for supposedly very creative people
I don’t even need to read the message to know it’s a scam. No one ever DMs me otherwise.
Got you fam
Thank you boo
A cold DM in a server I’m just in for the emotes, the user has no other posts in that server
Besides, it is the entirely wrong way to ask for commissions to begin with. If people want to commission you art, then they will seek you out and commission art from you. Stop randomly sending people DMs and asking for commissions. It is an entirely immoral way to get commissions and it is a great way for you to get blocked and reported. Just let the people who want to commission you come to you, not the other way around. I’ve already had to block and report several people on Bluesky for sending me DMs asking for me to give them money for art commissions. A real artist does not do that. And besides, each and every one of them had an AI generated profile picture, so I was immediately able to identify they were a scam. The last one I got, I groaned and said “ugh, not another art comm scam”, and proceeded to pretend to fall for the bait, and as soon as they asked me for my budget, I stopped acting naive and unknowing and actually told them off, then blocked them. If you send DMs to people like that then you’re going to get blocked and reported. Just let the people who want art from you to come to you and ask for commissions.
