Israeli troops were ordered to shoot and kill captive Israeli civilians on 7 October 2023, Israel’s then defence minister admitted this week. The order to carry out Israel’s so-called Hannibal Directive was issued “tactically” and “in various places” next to Gaza, Yoav Gallant told Israel’s Channel 12 on Thursday. “In other places it was not given, and that is a problem,” he continued.
Contrary to Gallant’s statement that the Hannibal Directive was unevenly applied in different areas, Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported in January 2024 that at midday on 7 October, an unambiguous order was given from the high command of the Israeli military to invoke the Hannibal Directive across the entire region.
In July, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the order “not a single vehicle can return to Gaza” was issued to the Gaza Division of the Israeli military at 11:22 am that day. But Gallant’s new statement is highly significant, as the first public admission by a contemporary Israeli minister that their troops were ordered to fire on their own people on 7 October.
Yet another Israeli war crime…
So, one of the best secret service and intelligence agency in the world didn’t see a full combined air/ground assault coming… but they were ready to issue the order to kill civilian hostages.
(Sorry for my tinfoil hat moment, but since that day I believe they intentionally let the attack happen to justify their genocide in Gaza)
Egypt warned them 3 days prior to the attack BBC .
Yeah. It’s their 9/11. Sickening.
It’s been nothing short of disgusting the last year and half. Everyone who has been enabling this to escalate is nothing short of evil
I’m surprised the DNC boot-lickers haven’t yet rushed this tread parroting the propaganda that it’s all the fault of the non-voters that it’s the horrible Fascist-lover Genocide-supporter Trump doing bad things to Palestinians whilst conveniently ignoring that their very own Fascist-lover Genocide-supporting Biden was the one “unwaveringly” supporting Israel in things like this (even gleefully spreading the Israeli lies on this, a man who as POTUS definitely had access to intel to know that Israel had activated the Hannibal Protocol) and even worse, supporting the year-long Genocide the Zionists were doing in Gaza complete with tens of thousands of murdered children, all of which the other of the DNC’s chosen candidates, Kamala Harris also supported.
One of the most disgusting things in all this is the extreme hypocrisy of one bunch of supporters of child mass-murder blaming those who wouldn’t vote for supporters of child mass-murder, for the result of an election were a different bunch of child mass-murder supporters won, as if supporting child mass-murder was anything else than their choice a choice which they could’ve changed at any time and yet, repeatedly, chose to double down on.
It makes me sick that people who actively SUPPORT the enablers of child mass-murder portray themselves as having the moral high ground versus people whose Morals and Ethics stopped them from supporting any enablers of child mass-murder. You do not have and will never have the moral high-ground for the rest of your life when you supported the people who were behind 17 pages worth of murdered babies: blood of those babies is forever in your hands.
Fuck the Israeli government, I’m sure this policy has nothing to do with mercy nor information, however, it is not an uncommon tactic when captivity likely includes interrogation and/or torture.
Hamas has always been pretty good to their captives. As recently proven once again recently by none of the captives saying they were tortured.
If any Israelis were tortured we would be guaranteed to read the stories on the front page of every big newspaper. Unlike the Palestinians whose actual torture gets completely buried by the news.
It’s not like IDF soldiers hold much special knowledge. They simply become pawns to be traded for Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas has always been pretty good to their captives.
Not sure how much I believe this. We’ll have to hear from the captives themselves.
There are plenty of stories of released captives. They are all much of the same. During the captive taking it was rough and they were often hurt. But once they were in captivity it was mostly boring.

Their biggest fear was getting killed by Israeli bombs. And the injuries they sustained during captivity were by Israeli bombs.
Freed Israeli hostages held by Hamas were terrified IDF airstrikes would kill them
How many Israeli deaths lay at the feet of the IDF due to this directive?
How many Palestinian deaths happened because the Israeli citizens killed under the Hannibal Directive were used as justification for attacking Palestinians?
They were only killed if they were already held hostage, like don’t get me wrong dying is the end all your life is just over but being held kidnapped for over a year being raped and tortured seems worse to me than just dying as I got kidnapped knowing my kidnappers got killed too.
“They wanted to die.” Helluva an argument. Kudos
I didn’t say they wanted to die I said I would rather die.
